Stitch Sundress

This is my most prized possession, it took me around a week and a half to make. I wanted to make this dress for my job during the summer. I worked at a summer camp and my position was "Weavery Prospec" meaning I taught kids how to use really old looms. My camp name was also Stitch so I wanted to make a dress for banquet (a fancy dinner we had every week at camp). If you can't tell the purple fabric has little stitch's on it. The process I took with this dress was draping, I took inspiration photos and then went right into draping. I then patterned the pieces and sewed it together to make the mock up. after I adjusted the pattern to fit me, I used the real fabric. I also put in pockets! The hardest part was the bow, at first I made it so I would tie the bow each time but that got annoying so I made a permanent bow to clip in the back (like a bra). This was a very fun project and the children loved it!

White Dress

This is my second creation I made for my Costume Patterning Class. I made personal patterns for myself and made this dress out of muslin. If I was going to create this dress for real I would use a dark blue fabric and make it sparkly and possibly add butterflies. I created this dress because I like elegant dresses and I want to twirl around in them! I am happy with this dress and I can't wait to use the fabric I want!

Butterfly Shorts

This my first solo clothing project (for myself). These are butterfly shorts I created in 2021, and they took about a week for me to make. I started with a basic pants pattern and shortened them to shorts. I then did all the cutting out the fabric and sewing parts. The hardest part for me at the time was cutting out the individual butterflies and sewing them on to the shorts, and doing the same to the back pockets. Overall this is still one of my favorite projects and I love how they turned out.

Flora Winx Corset

This is my most recent design, spring of 2024. I created this corset in my Advanced Sewing class, for my friend. I started off drawing my design based of the cartoon character Flora from Winx Club. I then found a regular bodice pattern, cut it out of muslin, and then had a fitting. I then proceded to make it look the way I wanted and add where I wanted the boning channels. After my second fitting with muslin, I cut/traced the new pattern out of my dusty pink twill. I made two layers (one being the lining). I added the boning channels and inserted the bone. The next step was to cut out the top layer which is the light sparkle stretch pink fabric and a satin stretch darker pink fabric. I sewed the top layer on the twill then graded the edges and hand sewed piping on the bottom and top of the corset. I added the grommets and the green ribbon to lace.
